Recognize the material

The conspicuous green cups are enlarged calyces around tiny white flowers. They form a repeated pattern along the flower spike.

Botanical reference: Moluccella laevis — NC State Extension

Make a deliberate design choice

Compare an upright placement with an angled one in a real vessel. Covering the cups with other leaves turns a distinctive structure into a general green area. Choose this material for its form as well as its color.

A comparison you can reproduce

List two Bells of Ireland stems separately from leafy foliage. Compare a version with one spike and one additional foliage stem while leaving focal counts fixed; green SVG marks do not distinguish cups from leaves.

The comparison is an original BLUMIVELA planning exercise, not a tested arrangement or a botanical treatment.
