Recognize the material

Boltonia asteroides has branching stems carrying many small daisy-like flower heads. The branch, not an individual daisy, determines much of the overall width.

Botanical reference: Boltonia asteroides — NC State Extension

Make a deliberate design choice

Inspect the spread from the main stem to its outer heads. Several stems may form a broad mass despite the small flowers. Keep the purchase count separate from the blossom count in photographs.

A comparison you can reproduce

Begin with one False Aster stem, then compare two only after checking the actual branch width. Save both lists so a larger apparent filler volume does not silently become a larger order.

The comparison is an original BLUMIVELA planning exercise, not a tested arrangement or a botanical treatment.
