Recognize the material

Gomphrena globosa has tiny true flowers surrounded by colored, papery bracts in rounded heads. The bracts provide much of the visible color.

Botanical reference: Gomphrena globosa — NC State Extension

Make a deliberate design choice

Look along a branching stem instead of judging a single head. Decide whether a few separated color points or a dense repeated pattern is wanted. Compare that texture with a large focal head in a real trial.

A comparison you can reproduce

Count three purchased stems as three units even if they bear many heads. Compare one before adding more. The current wider-view photo cannot confirm bract condition, so request a close-up for a specific order.

The comparison is an original BLUMIVELA planning exercise, not a tested arrangement or a botanical treatment.
