Recognize the material

Magnolia grandiflora has large leathery evergreen leaves with glossy upper surfaces and differently colored undersides. Leafy branches do not necessarily carry its large cream-white flowers.

Botanical reference: Magnolia grandiflora — NC State Extension

Make a deliberate design choice

Turn a real branch to compare both leaf faces. A large leaf may frame or conceal a smaller flower depending on orientation. Decide which surface is meant to be seen before increasing the foliage quantity.

A comparison you can reproduce

Enter supplier branch units, not individual leaves, and check actual bases against the vase neck. If a magnolia bloom is essential, request confirmation of flowering material rather than relying on this foliage reference.

The comparison is an original BLUMIVELA planning exercise, not a tested arrangement or a botanical treatment.
